The amazing ride that started February 29, 2008, will reach its conclusion in 2026. I can say with the utmost certainty that I emptied the tank giving it my all during the 18+ years I’ve spent at Youth Go. I never could have imagined the opportunities that would come my way when I accepted the offer to become Youth Go’s Recreation Coordinator. Many of them were simply due to being in the right place at the right time; while others came about because of my work ethic and an environment that made them possible. It’s more difficult to quantify the impact of the people (participants, co-workers, and adult volunteers) who came into my life because of this incredible place. Several of whom I consider family, because calling them friends would not do justice to the bonds that have formed. For a number of years, I’ve been saying I will never be able to repay the debt for what Youth Go has given me. Well, I feel I’ve come as close as I ever will to settling that debt, and I’ve accepted the fact I’ll never be able to make it square. I will look back at this period of my life and forever consider myself the luckiest guy in the world.
