2023 Recap

It was another great summer of Badges for Baseball in 2023. We had our highest number of participants since 2019. They brought a willingness to learn, as well as a lot of enthusiasm and determination to succeed each week in both Menasha and Neenah. We set a record with 13 different law enforcement volunteers from the Neenah, Menash, and Fox Crossing Police Departments. We had three adult volunteers give up part of their summer days and help things run more smoothly than it would have if I didn’t have them there. We also had 10 different high school vonuteers add a little extra energy and made the summer a lot of fun. Tristain provided a new perspective, as a staff member who also took part in the program when he was in middle school. The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers helped to finish our summer off in style at the Friday event on August 25. We were also able to bring a group of youth to Marland for the first time since 2018. Jamal, Ethan, and Lincoln represented their teammates well. Year 14 was a memorable one!

In February 2015, Youth Go mentor Alex Steward and Program Supervisor Timothy Chappa were honored to attend the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation Aspire Gala event in Baltimore. Read more about the event.

In February 2017, former Youth Go and Badges for Baseball participant Tristain Prosper was selected as the very first Ripken Scholar Award winner!
