History

Youth Go was founded in 1969 by youth and supportive adults looking for a safe gathering place. It started in the basement of Shirley Lopas, a woman from Neenah, who really believed that teenagers needed a safe, supervised place to hang out that would be all their own.

Her project was a huge success, and her home was absolutely packed with youth. After a few years, it became more than she could possibly handle. At that point a committee was formed and a small staff was hired and the center moved into the basement of St. Thomas Episcopal Church.

In 1993, Youth Go secured its current site on the border of Neenah and Menasha, Wisconsin.

Youth Go has grown and evolved over the years and continues to provide a safe place for youth in this community. Today, we combine flexibility and creativity to do our best to serve the needs of our youth.
